Good God…
Good God…
My champange birthday just keeps on giving.
I’ve been waiting since my first post on Jose Gonzalez for the song “Hand On Your Heart” to come to iTunes. Finally it did and also to YouTube.
The animation reminds me of some of the original Thames cartoons on Nickelodeon during Pinwheel House. Put that in your Way-Back Machine.
Other videos by Jose Gonzalez: Crosses, Teardrop, Heartbeats

I’m in love… with this magazine. The content, the typography, the… red cover.
I have just learned that after it’s brief run, it will be going entirely online with only special issues in print.
**GASP**
That’s fanschmastic that it’s going to be all web-a-fied so that I can click and save and store little schnippets in my virtual box (as opposed to my regular box, also known as a vagina) but I like paper—real, wasteful, glorious paper.
One day fellas, one day we’ll have nothing but our papers and what then huh? Where will I learn how to spice up my earring storage then?
Barbarians.

On a related note, check out the interface for registerring for and then being a member of Martha’s lil’ online empire. It’s clean and stylish with lots of explainations for the barely-web-ready users out there (very smart Martha), and…. it’s also kind of fun to style your little online are-er (area) and clip articles, recipes (a.k.a. shit you’ll never do) to your heart’s content (again, very smart Martha).
Maybe I could just live inside this documentary.
Excerpt:
“In Your Own Way”
Caleb KaneTear out your hair if you can’t bare anymore
It’s the same as yesterday it stays around
Locks the door
See, now here is the fear
That you live with every year
And you wonder if you’ll make it out aliveA change’ll do
A change of scenery’ll free you
But there’s never one way to roll
So find a way to take a picture of a moment
That you know you can’t control…I know it’s good to be alone some days
But you got a long face in your own way, baby
I know you got a big heart in your own way
Independent and smart in your own way
And even though you get along somehow
You’re missing out now in your own way, baby

As you have seen from my sidebar, I have been reading “Why Do Catholics Do That?” It was a gift after repeated admissions and blatant examples of my ignorance of Catholicism. It’s not an “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” kind of thing, but rather a way for me to have a vaguely intelligent and informed conversation next time I feel the need to nit pick about something. And maybe with a little more knowledge will come more understanding. It’s not going to upend my feelings about religion. I’m not going to start regularly going to church, temple, or anything else, but I expect not to dismiss it. That’s a whole different conversation, however.
This conversation is about discipline. Read the rest of this entry »
So I’m a sucker for music in commercials. It’s to the point where Sora sees, say, an Apple commercial, and immediately asks if I have downloaded the song yet. If the answer is not “Yes”, it’s usually “Not yet”. I decided to see if I was certifiably over the edge yet, and it turns out that only about 25 songs of mine (out of over 1200) are from commercials. For your voyeuristic pleasure, here is the list with lots of entertaining links. I’ll still be downloading commercial themes, but rest assured, there’s plenty of other crap that I’ll be buying too. So I’ve decided that, without him, it’s not worth voting in November.
Sadly, I couldn’t cut Scarlet “I’m-A-Gigantic-Whore” Johansen from this, but you take what you can get… like she does.
